Geetanjali Art Welfare Felicitates Women Teachers on Teachers’ Day

    NEW DELHI: Teachers, who play a vital role in shaping knowledge, values and society, were honoured at a special Teachers’ Day programme organised by Geetanjali Art Welfare Society at the Mini Auditorium, SSS, Nirman Vihar. Titled ‘Gauravmayi Shaam – Aadarniya Shikshakon Ke Naam’, the programme recognised around 25 women educators, including doctors, PGTs, English and science teachers, primary teachers and professors.

The event featured cultural performances and addresses by the participating teachers. The organisers said the programme was aimed at expressing gratitude towards educators and recognising their contribution beyond their professional achievements.


NCR-based anchor Payal Kakkar kept the audience engaged with poetry, shayari and humour. Founder member Vinita Saxena and organiser Sushma Rani also presented songs, while founder Manju Mittal played an important role in coordinating the programme. Poet and society member Anita Rastogi was also acknowledged for her continued contribution to the organisation. The four women have been associated with the society’s responsibilities for the past 21 years.

Chief guest Sikandar Hasan, chief patrons Mamta Gupta and Raj Singh, along with artists including Raju Sheel, Rajeshwar, Yunus Naseeb, Brijesh, Ranjana Gupta, Vibha, Kulwant Kaur, Deepak Vij, Vijay Malhotra and Dr Ganesh Das Arora, also presented performances. The society has been organising social and cultural programmes for the past 21 years.
