Prof. Shakir Jamil awarded with Sheikh Zayed International Award for alternative medicine
Prof. S. Shakir Jamil, a leading academician cum researcher from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi has won Sheikh Zayed International Award for Research in Unani Medicine in an event organized by the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation held on 10th Oct 2022 at Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Foundation is a UAE based non-governmental organization that invests in developing human capital to improve the quality of life through the approach of prophetic, traditional and alternative medicine. The award aims to give recognition to the eminent academicians and scientists of traditional, complimentary & alternative medicine (TCAM) globally.
Prof S. Shakir Jamil is a retired from Jamia
Hamdard and had served as Dean, School of Unani Medical Education &
Research at Jamia Hamdard and former Director
General, Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of
AYUSH, Govt. of India. Among many awards, Prof.
S. Shakir Jamil was also awarded with 'Lifetime Achievement Award'
by CCRUM, Ministry of AYUSH
(Govt. of India) in Feb 2017 for his contribution in Unani Research.
