New Delhi 25 Sep. A delegation of Intellectual Jurists Muslim Association New Delhi (IJMA) met Prof.(Dr) Kahkashan Y. Daniyal to express heartfelt pleasure on her appointment to the coveted post of Dean, Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia University New Delhi. IJMA Delegation was led by Adv. Tariq Farooqui (General Secretary) and accompanied by Adv. Masroor-ul-Hasan Siddiqi (Vice President), Adv. Aslam Ahmed (Joint Secretary) and Adv. Raees Ahmed (Joint Secretary), Md. Safder Imam & Shehzad Khan (Executive Members). The Delegation expressed happiness on the appointment of Prof.(Dr.) Kahkashan, who is a Senior Active Distinguished Member of IJMA (NGO). Prof. (Dr.) Kahkashan has been an important and ardent voice for Women and Minorities Rights as welkl as Rights of the Marginalized Section of the Society. She takes over the charge of Dean, Faculty of Law at an important time when the importance of law and legal safeguards and awareness is all the more relevant in present time. The youth is aspiring to get Legal Education and Enrolment in Law Colleges is increasing day-by-day which shows the respect Legal Education has acquired in today’s scenario. She has an impressive career spanning since 1992 to till date as a teacher and guide and mentor to the students aver since she joined Jamia Millia Islamia. She has been a member of Delhi Legal Services Authority and worked for providing free and timely Legal Aid to the poor and needy strata of the society. She has many publications on women issues, legal aid, and legal reforms to her credit during the course of career. She has also authored several books and papers most importantly on the subject pertaining to Muslim Community such as Personal Law, Law of Waqf, Women Personal and Property Rights etc. She has also authored papers / publications on other subjects such as Land Acquisition, Cruelty against Women etc. The IJMA Delegation wish Prof.(Dr.) Kahkashan Y. Daniyal very best in her role as the Dean, Faculty of Law, JMI and hopes that under her dynamic leadership the Faculty of Law, JMI will achieve greater heights and its students achieve success and leave their imprint in the field of law with the knowledge and experience gained at Faculty of Law, JMI. Rana Parveen Siddiqui , President of IJMA, sent her best wishes as she could not join due to illness.
