Delhi Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat General Body Meeting Emphasizes Expansion of Organization, Discusses National Issues and Future Plans

New Delhi 21 September ! The Delhi unit of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat convened an important meeting at its central office, marking a significant milestone as the new executive committee completed its first year. The meeting witnessed a large turnout of General Body and executive members who reviewed the organization’s year-long activities and progress.
The proceedings began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Mohammad Atif, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Idrees Quraishi, President of Delhi Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, who expressed satisfaction over the organization’s performance throughout the year.
General Secretary Dr. Iqbal Ahmed presented a detailed annual report, highlighting various organizational initiatives, outreach campaigns, welfare programs, training sessions and efforts on social issues. Treasurer Janab Moinul Haq Khan presented the financial report and the proposed budget, which was unanimously approved by the members.
During discussions on the national scenario, former General Secretary Mohammad Ilyas Saifi stressed the need to set aside internal differences and work collectively for the benefit of the community. He underlined that unity and cooperation were essential to face present challenges and to develop joint strategies on national and community-related issues.
Vice President Engineer Abu Sayeed said the core mission of Delhi Mushawarat was to build dialogue and coordination among diverse groups, institutions and personalities, thereby fostering a strong sense of cooperation on national issues. He emphasized that Mushawarat remains the only collective platform of India’s Muslim institutions and leading figures, serving as a guiding and coordinating force.
Dr. Idrees Quraishi also highlighted the importance of preparing youth for leadership roles so they could contribute effectively in their respective fields while serving the community. He further suggested that the expertise of retired professionals, intellectuals and specialists should be utilized in organizational work for the benefit of collective experience.
The meeting resolved to establish district-level Mushawarat committees across Delhi. Office bearers will tour different districts to consult with local leaders and influential individuals to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level. The gathering also emphasized continuing welfare programs such as voter registration camps, Aadhaar camps and other public service initiatives.
Dr. Rehana Iqbal, Mohammad Taqi, Abdur Rashid, Umar Farooq, Engineer Badr Afaq and others offered valuable suggestions for the organization’s growth. Members appreciated the achievements of the past year and called for a more proactive role in the future.
The meeting concluded with prayers led by Vice President Maulana Nisar Ahmad Naqshbandi for the well-being, unity and prosperity of the nation and the community.
